Independent Documentarian Scott Shine was named by Jacksonville Magazine as one of the First Coast’s most influential people. Shine is a former Jacksonville, Florida businessman who has led communications, research and strategic planning efforts for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Barnett Banks, The Nemours Children’s Clinic and Bank of America.
Scott Shine’s background includes specialization in the areas of market research, focus group, survey research, quantitative and multivariate statistical methods. He was also among the pioneers in the development of modern internet and e-commerce delivery systems in the financial services industry.
Shine has served in several leadership positions with the City of Jacksonville, including being a member of the Jacksonville Ethics Commission and the Jacksonville Waterways Commission. Shine was elected to the Duval County School Board in 2014 where he represented the Beaches District and served on the Value Adjustment Board.
Scott Shine was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, and he is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. His family has a long history in the business community, with his grandfather being among the original Coke-Cola Bottlers. Shine is active in water sports, hunting, fishing and shooting sports. He holds seven current and past certifications in shooting sports safety and instruction.
